Cyclists Welcome

The Isle of Man is the perfect destination for a cycling trip, with enough testing terrain to challenge even the most serious cyclists and plenty of quiet lanes roads for sightseers and families who want to take it at their own pace.  Despite the Island’s size, the scenery is extremely diverse with wonderful coastal roads, scenic country lanes and sweeping glens to discover.

Silly Moos is part of the Cyclists Welcome Scheme, offering a range of additional facilities and services to help make your stay more comfortable. We offer a safe and secure storage area for you to store your bike and drying rooms for you to hang wet clothing overnight.

Numerous events are held annually and the Island has an ever increasing list of notable cyclists competing on the international stage. Silly Moos was proud to be the official campsite for Cyclefest 2017 which took place in May in the spectacular Milntown Estate. With events for all types of cyclists – both young and old – it’s a festival not to be missed.

So make sure to pack your gear, bring your bike and head over to Silly Moos!

Mountain Biking - Island Guide
The Isle of Man’s forests and countryside contain a huge variety of cycle trails ranging from open natural tracks, gravel paths to purpose built single-tracks – perfect for mountain bikers or a family ride out. Forests can be linked to make a full day’s ride out by following way-marked routes that take advantage of the Island’s network of Byways and Greenway Roads.

Cycle Hire
If you are coming to the Island via boat, you can easily take your bike with you on the ferry. However, if you’re flying or you would rather not bring your own bike, you can easily hire one while you’re here.  Outdoors Ramsey is our nearest Cycle Hire shop. It is an outdoor activity shop which also provides mountain bikes for hire, all fitted with intermediate tyres to give you the smoothness on the road along with the grip for off-road.
